The Shadow

The Shadow episodes have been "cleaned", background noise removed, as best as possible. Moreover, the volume has been normalized to -10 db which is best suited for the spoken word such as old time radio and audiobooks.

Just because your uncle was the longest running shadow, does not mean the others did not have their place in the role. It also does not mean that you have any place in tearing down others work. On the grounds of copyright, according to the Library of Congress the copyright for Well's broadcast expired in 1986, as they were filed under state copyright, not national.

Subject: Welles and Johnstone were lousy
Bret Morrison was the BEST Shadow as well as the longest-running.

By the way, Conde-Nast will be after you to remove these again---they are still copyrighted.

All of these are an excellent representation of the Golden Age "Shadow" shows.

Welles was great as the "first" Shadow in a fully scripted & cast show. Next up was Bill Johnstone, and, lastly, Brett Morrison.

Morrison was the longest running, but Johnstone & Welles are my personal favorites.

"The Shadow" was an Historic Milestone in Golden Age Radio mystery/drama...and should never be forgotten for its importance to the genre'.
